Country Estates Goes to summer Theatre

This past Saturday evening the Country Estates neighbors gathered at the Country Drive By Home for a few cocktails and a visit to St Vincent Summer Theatre and then the Cabaret afterwards.  We traveled to the theater via the Vogue Limousine Black n gold Trolley.

The neighbors pose for a photo before we head into the play.

Sounds Like Summer is the name of the weekly street music festival held in Elizabeth, PA this summer.
It is a great event and we had a lot of fun.

St Benedict Parish Festival

This past weekend we attended St Benedict's Festival.  On Saturday evening Tom G stopped by to have a cold one with Dad at the "Beer" station.  ( You have to stay within the fenced areas with your beer.)

This is a photo of the new pavilion, which is not quite finished.  Bingo took place in the pavilion.

Jerry G is Mr Bingo.  He has the best voice.

I won the kids toys and games basket.  My favorite is the mesh bag that holds all the toys.

visit to the Finger Lakes

Fourth of July weekend we traveled to the Finger Lakes area.
The Finger Lakes area is New York's largest wine producing region. Over 100 wineries and vineyards are located around Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Conesus and Hemlock lakes. Because of the lakes' great depth, they provide a lake effect to the lush vineyards that flank their shores. Retaining residual summer warmth in the winter, and winter's cold in the spring, the grapes are protected from disastrous spring frost during shoot growth, and early frost before the harvest.
We stayed at the Best Western which is located at the tip of Keuka Lake.  It is the wishbone shaped lake.

Each lake is surrounded by wineries and directly on the lake shore are many homes with boat docks.

Outside of a winery overlooking Keuka Lake.

More lake views.

 Savoring his glass of wine.

 Relaxing at a winery.

Dad walking to car so we can load the case of wine we just bought.

Keuka Lake Outlet Trail

Keuka Lake Trail Map

During our trip to the fingerlakes in New York state we took a short walk on the out let trail to see two waterfalls.

Keuka Lake is one of only two Finger Lakes that outlets into another Finger Lake, that being Seneca Lake. The Keuka Lake Outlet, which drops 270 feet from Keuka Lake down into Seneca Lake, was used for many years for industry and transportation. The outlet powered mills of all types from 1789 until 1968. Today the outlet provides a wealth of beauty and history to those who walk, bike, or cross country ski the trail that meanders along side her. The drop is gradual and spread out along the 7.5 mile trail. By bike it is not overly strenuous, yet it is suggested that you start in Dresden and work toward Penn Yan. When you are tired from your slight uphill travels, you'll be happy that the return trip has gravity working on your behalf.
