Opening Day at PNC Park

Attending Opening Day At PNC was a first for me. Traveled to the ballpark with Dave, Stephanie and Linda.  We met up with their son Jason and friends and had this photo taken by a WPKI photographer.

Luckily it was the first sunny day of Spring and myself, Steph and Linda did not need to bundle up.
Linda gave Steph and I our very own Pittsburgh Pirate hair-bows. (look closely)

of course, you cannot tailgate without mimosas!!!

The view from our seats. NICE!

The game went into extra innings, so Linda and I had to venture to Rivertowne Brewing Hall of Fame Club to have some liquid refreshment.
while there we watched on the Big Screen Neil Walker win the the game with his walk off home run.
Pirates win 1 - 0 over the Cubs.

Watch this video forwarded from Tom..
Always plunder the lox.
If there’s one piece of knowledge to take away from ESPN’s newest “This Is SportsCenter” ad, it’s that Andrew McCutchen loves his brined salmon.
The Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder recently made his first ESPN commercial appearance, leading a band of pirate mascots on a daring raid into John Anderson’s breakfast meeting.
McCutchen’s crew consisted of Pee Dee the Pirate of East Carolina, Captain Fear of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seton Hall Pirate. They showed no mercy whatsoever as they stormed into the gathering and ransacked its bounty of tasty vittles. The Seton Hall Pirate even grabbed Anderson’s presentation board, which could be bartered for grog or other booty.
Like any captain worth his salt, McCutchen appeared in the midst of the pillaging with a parrot at his shoulder. He and Pittsburgh’s Pirate Parrot were quick to ensure no valuable treasure went unlooted.
After a quick survey of the scene, McCutchen spotted the crown jewel of the feast.
“The lox,” McCutchen said. “Plunder the lox.”
And that, my friends, is how you make a commercial. McCutchen delivered his brief lines perfectly, sealing the deal on a spot Pittsburgh Pirates fans are sure to love.

Christmas Holiday Celebrations 2013

Breakfast with the Elf on the Shelf

The first weekend of December The  Latrobe Art Center sponsored lunch with the Elf on the Shelf.
The life sized elf, named Buddy, literally was on the shelf and he welcomed the children and guided them in a snowman painting class.

Tommy with his paintbrush and snowman painting.

Grace preferred to eat the breakfast.  (No painting)  French toast sticks, bacon, syrup and snowballs (powdered sugar donut holes)  Grace ate the donuts dipped in the syrup.  Yummy.

Pap pap also enjoyed the breakfast.  One of the elves knew him and slipped him a breakfast plate.

Grace didn't want Buddy to sit with us. But he autographed the snowman creations.

The build a Gingerbread house all set and ready to be built.
Each child had one (for the parents to work on).

Evelyn's house had two architects.

Lunchtime.

Santa visits baby James.  The other Grand-kids said no thanks to St Nick.

I'm not afraid of Santa and I was a good boy.

Story time.  Everyone is all ears.
Tommy raises his hand to tell the elf his elf is named Sydney and everyone claps.

Of course it's family photo time.

The photographer snaps one last pose of James.  He's awake now but time to go.
