PNC park was the first stop for let's relax. Tax season is over.
The Pittsburgh Pirate parrot walks by our seats. Tommy was not interested in a visit from the parrot.
He was concentrating on cotton candy and waiting for #22 to come to bat.
Luv, luv luv cotton candy.
Mid-game break at the children's area.
Next stop for Post Tax Season...
Washington DC and Georgetown Cupcakes.
Michelle and Grace have a seat.
Tommy wastes no time and samples his vanilla cupcake.
Saturday morning we start our DC tour on the open top bus. Can you guess who is so oo excited??
Tom frames his shot.
The Washington Monument is closed for repairs due to an earthquake on August 23, 2011, still looks impressive.
Lincoln Monument up-close.
OK...we'll pose for another picture.
Grace on piggyback at the World War II memorial.
This is what the WWII memorial should have looked like. The water wasn't on yet.
Tommy looking at an exhibit in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
Up close. Hope no one is watching.
We also visited the Butterfly pavilion at the museum. It is supposed to be enjoyable for the whole family. Grace became afraid of the butterflies after about 5 minutes and Tommy didn't make it much longer. The butterflies flew everywhere and would even land on the observers. Grace didn't want any parts of that. Michelle and I made sure we got our money's worth and stayed longer.
After walking thru the museum it was time for lunch and how convenient we found a restaurant with the Penguin game.
We passed by the IRS building on the way to the bus stop.
We rode the open top all the way back to the hotel drop off. Luckily we were up front and out of the wind.
On Sunday we went to the National Zoo. We rented a stroller for the kids. Perfect size.
Tommy rides the carousel
Grace not sure she wants to ride.
Tommy takes a second spin with pap-pap before its time to head for home.
One last snapshot.
